NEED to KNIT!!!

You know all those cute projects on Pinterest you see that involve KNITTING, but you can't knit... if only you knew how.... I bet there is something you could pass off in personal progress if you learned how to knit....!!!  All you need is some YARN and someone willing and very patient to teach us how to knit!!!  We found both!!!

I asked my sweet friend Martha from the gym where I teach if she would come teach our young women.  She is a knitting PRO and has made me several pairs of sweet stylish gloves last year (that I get compliments on every time I wear them!)  She was more than willing and super excited for the challenge!
THANK YOU SO MUCH MARTHA for sharing your talents with our young women!!!

Julia Thomas and Debra Anderson came to help!!
As you can see, we leaders were trying to learn with the girls....

Cristi Lloyd was a big help!

 Making progress!!

Elizabeth Blackwelder had the coolest knitting machine!  It knit that entire pillow case in the time it took for us to learn and get through three rows!
Cami has found her new passion!!  She is loving knitting!

Super grateful Rita Christenot stepped in to help when we were short handed!!! THANKS!!
Now comes the fun part of working on it at home....

Can you guess which one is MINE and which one is Tori's? (no teasing please!  It was my first try!... and her first try....)
and TA-DA!!!  The FINISHED PRODUCT!!!  They all turned out AWESOME!!!

GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!

Now onto our NEXT Project!!!  GLOVES!!!

Pictonary!

The boy were in charge of this combined activity!  We split into teams and had a roll a HUGE dice to decide how many people could go up to draw a picture.  It was funny to see every ones different art "expression" lol!

Gotta cheer your team mates on!!
SO FUNNY!!!  COME ON GUYS!!!  Can't you tell what it is??

Garrett had an awesome "PILLAR-OF-FIRE"

Putting on the Armor of God!

D&C 27:15 "Wherefore, lift up your hearts and rejoice, and gird up your loins, and take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to stand.
16 Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, which I have sent mine angels to commit unto you;
17 Taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked;
18 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of my Spirit, which I will pour out upon you, and my word which I reveal unto you, and be agreed as touching all things whatsoever ye ask of me, and be faithful until I come, and ye shall be caught up, that where I am ye shall be also. Amen."

(that I watched when I was your age!!-lol!)

Special thanks to Dylan for helping me
color a "girl" picture!  :)
And a super special thanks to Cami who modeled our
"Armor of God" on Sunday!

TaCkY dAnCe!!!

The youth had SOOOOO MUCH FUN at this months stake dance!  The theme was a TACKY DANCE!  They had a friend who owes half of the Canton Trades Day pavilions and asked to use one that was two stories high.  It was awesome the way they had it set up with the dance upstairs and the food and games down stairs so every one could watch the games from up high!  Lots of youth came dressed "tacky".  They played lots of silly tacky games!  They went all out and served chili cheese hot dogs, chips, and all sorts of desserts!

These two were each others "LIFE SAVOR" when it came to this challenge!  They had to stick 15 Life Savors to their partners face without them tipping their head backwards and get them to stay stuck for 10 seconds!  They blew everyone out of the water!  Great job girls!

My girls watching on!

Next, was the Alka Seltzer competition!  Each person had to place an alka seltzer in their mouth and then drink a sip of sprite and NOT SWALLOW!!!  It would then foam up like CRAZY!  Last one NOT to spit it out would win!!!  (I got this part on video)  Pres Taylor joined in on this race!  Everyone on was out and it was down to President Taylor and our very on BRITTANY!!!  GUESS WHO WON?!?!?!  YUP!!!  She actually kept it in so long that they finally told her to spit it out and declared her the winner! (President Taylor's had long since dissolved)  Check out her sweet trophy!!!

This was Tori and Garrett's FIRST DANCE!!!

Chrysta and Kirey showing them how its done!

Angpao had a great time at HER FIRST stake dance and made LOTS of new friends!

 Hey!!!  LOOK!!!  WHATS THAT???

Bro Elliott didn't let the youth have all the fun!!!
Angpao was dancing all night!
It was Maddy's FIRST stake dance TOO!!
 So much fun!!!

Another competition they had involved whipping cream!  You had to stand an arms distance from your partner and spray the WHOLE can of cream into your partners mouth and they had to eat the whole thing!!  Sounds fun and maybe easy... until you start to giggle!!! he he!!

It was and AWESOME dance that ended with President Taylor dancing with all the youth to the "HAPPY" dance-cuz WE'RE HAPPY!!!  Well done Wills Point, Tyler 2, and Palestine!!  We all had a FABULOUS TIME!!!  See yall next month!!
