One night we went to an all girls group home of special girls. We planted a fall garden! The most memorable part of the night was when one of the girls got out there with us and worked harder than anyone else. She told us the story of a few years ago. Her mom taught her how to plant and tend to a garden. She was dying of cancer and said, "I want you to have this garden to always remember me by after I am gone." This special girl said after her mom passed away she was put into foster care and then moved group home to group home. She always wanted to plant a garden, but there was never enough time or money to make her memory of her mom bloom. She was so excited! I knew our girls planning out this awesome activity was truly inspired! It was a night our girls will never forget!
