The AWESOME TALKS
no really... that is what is said on the schedule and they were NOT kidding!! THEY WERE AWESOME!!! We got the best of the BEST!!
The first talks were given by the temple president, President Bruce Jones and his beautiful wife Sis. Jerry Jones.(http://www.ldschurchtemples.com/dallas/presidents/)
They talked about the importance of sealings of families and family history. Sis. Jones shared a personal story about her niece trying to adopt their son and finally being able to seal him to them. A peace came over him. He knew Jesus was there. President Jones shared stories about his pioneer heritage and had the same book "40 years among the Indians" that Kylie had just learned about! Maybe they are related!!
The second speakers were good friends of Sis. Links and relatives of Mitt Romney!!! Pres and Sister Romney came and spoke to us about missionary work!
President Brent Romney and his sweet wife Ella served as the mission president in Monterey Mexico back in 2012. Pres Romney was recently called as President of the MTC in the Dominican Republic and his wife Ella will be the Relief Society President. They will head out for their new assignment January 2015!! Pres. Romney also served his mission with Pres. Don Taylor back when they were 20 years old!

Youth Conference was simply AMAZING!!! We are so grateful for the wonderful leaders who spent countless hours organizing food, hotel rooms, temple sessions, time off work, buildings to meet in, amazing speakers, great service projects, and SO MUCH MORE and pack it ALL into a few days!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Testimony meeting too was super nice to hear from almost all the youth! I am so proud of the young men and women we have in this stake and the great examples they are!
I think we finally mastered the youth's cool poses!! or maybe we need a little more work.....
